Investment Performance Analyst

 The investment performance analyst oversees all aspects of record-keeping, accounting, and investment performance across Landseer client portfolios. Key responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day data aggregation and information management for all investments within client portfolios. The task includes organizing and creating processes for the systematic aggregation and analysis of public equity, credit and private market investments (including hedge funds, private equity and real estate investments). 

  • Production of monthly and quarterly performance reports for Landseer clients. Includes tracking monthly performance, allocations, unfunded commitments, cash transfers and reconciling activity in client portfolios. An understanding of underlying investments and investment performance relative to benchmarks is a critical component of the responsibility, as is accuracy and attention to detail. 

  • Supporting the investment team in monitoring and analyzing existing and new investments. This includes having primary responsibility for maintaining “one-pagers” on all client investments. Data aggregated include various types of performance attribution, exposure summaries, AUM and other types of analysis that monitor the evolution of the investment opportunity and the quality of execution of the investment.

  • Promptly and professionally responding to back office-related inquiries made by our clients, fund administrators or by external investment managers. Excellent interpersonal skills and a focus on superior client service are requirements.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in investment accounting, fund administration, or performance reporting at a similar type of investment organization

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred

  • Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) or independent mastery of the subject matter

  • Knowledge of financial instruments and investment accounting presentation

  • Strong Excel skills, as well as experience working with Bloomberg

  • Articulate, as well as responsive, in a client service role

  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in an unstructured environment

  • Ability to multitask and manage deadlines for short-term, long-term and ad-hoc assignments
